LRBA Demographics
The Association uses three software packages that provide
demographic data, which include information about the people in a church’s
community.
The three programs are:

Scan US |
Uses US Census data and data from
other sources. Some information categories include: race, age groups,
gender, income levels, household makeup, and educational attainment. |
| Mosaic |
Lifestyle segmentation software
that divides the US population into 60 lifestyle clusters to help a church
understand the kinds of people in its community. |

Percept |
Another lifestyle segmentation
software that provides some information that Mosaic does not, including faith
preferences. |
How Can a Church Use Demographic Data?
Demographic data will help a church:

Determine locations of outreach activities

Design outreach that is culturally contextualized
•
Design ministries to meet identified needs
•
Compare membership to the community to see how well
your
church is reaching the people around
it

See the need for new churches, and where they are
needed
